The BWF is testing a new format for team competitions at the Junior World Championship. So, while the rules have changed, the usual big Asian teams continue to perform the best, although there have been significant surprises during the tournament.
The most notable moment is the heroic fight and victory of the United States against Thailand and Denmark, but there may also be great potential in the new generation of French players. Overall, there were no major shocks, as the teams reaching the top four were China, Indonesia, Japan, and Malaysia. China and Indonesia will face off in the final, so we won’t be crowning a new champion at this year’s Suhandinata Cup.
Out of the previous 19 editions of this tournament, there have been only four different winners: South Korea, Malaysia, Indonesia, and China.
