Singaporean Loh Kean Yew became a father two weeks before the Olympics, but only announced it to the public after the Paris Games. The 2021 world champion expressed gratitude to his and his wife’s parents, who provided a great deal of support while he was competing. Loh Kean Yew has now returned to Singapore to be with his wife and newborn son. However, the happy father won’t be able to stay with his family for long, as the World Tour will resume in Japan in two weeks, and Loh Kean Yew is already signed up to compete.
Currently ranked 12th in the world, he was knocked out of the Paris Olympics by his good friend Viktor Axelsen in the quarterfinals, after eliminating one of the tournament favorites, Li Shi Feng.
